Earlier this week, I promised a follow up post to the Holiday Decor DIY: Paper Chain post and here it is! Melissa and I made paper garlands from the left over silver and gold paper we used in the previous DIY post. I was inspired by some paper decorations I noticed in the window of the cutest stationary store on S. Lamar in downtown Austin. I stopped into Paper Source one afternoon and fell in love with these gold paper garlands and knew these would be perfect for the holidays.
This DIY was super easy, although I suggest you use a small ladder instead of a bar stool like I did (safety first people!). Melissa suggested I varied the length of the yarn so that the garlands weren’t all the same length from the ceiling and this worked really well. It especially complemented the fact that all the garlands aren’t the same size too! We used nails to hang them from the ceiling but in hindsight I think push pins would have worked just as well since the decorations aren’t very heavy at all. What do you think? Will you be trying some simple decorations this holiday season in your home? We can’t wait to see what you guys come up with on social media!
