Austin is all the rage now and for good reason! There’s so much to do here and it has such an energetic vibe. I moved here three years ago and I’ve seen it grow so much. I heard a crazy statistic that over 150 people move to Austin in a day! Yikes…but how could you blame them. There’s a great music scene with tons of music festivals each year. The next one on the radar is SXSW; it’s a little more than just music with a focus on film and interactive. The city gets jam packed with industry professionals from all over the country. So with all these people coming into town, where do you stay? There are great hotels in the downtown area but I’ll share with you my two favorite hotels in ATX, Hotel San Jose and Hotel Saint Cecilia, right off South Congress. As of now, there are fully booked for SXSW but heck, there’s always next year.

Passport to Santorini

January 4, 2015

Ever since I saw The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants years ago, I became obsessed with Santorini. Then I saw Mamma Mia on screen and knew I had to add this destination to my travel wish list. The Greek island is charming and magical, and the white backdrop is magnificent with its pops of blue.

When I visit, there is no doubt in my mind that I will relax at the beach multiple times to get my tan on. I’ll need to find the perfect balance when packing: make sure I don’t over pack but still bring versatile pieces.

December 22, 2014

When my taxi was driving down the windy road along the Pacific coast to get to Terranea Resort , I knew I was in for a treat. Boy was I right! What a perfect escape from LA and all its craziness. Terranea is tucked away on the quiet shores of Palos Verdes overlooking Catalina Island and has views for days.

Eat Well, Be Well

December 21, 2014

One thing is always certain to happen when you go on vacation. And that is, you will eat and eat and eat. When I traveled to Terranea Resort , I dined at most of their restaurants on property and was happily pleased with their delicious menus. There were so many options, from casual comfort cuisine to fine dining to pastries and lattes at the coffee shop. Since I consider myself somewhat of a foodie, I took the personal challenge to find the best meals while on my mini-vacation.

California Love

December 11, 2014

When my company decided to fly me out to California for our holiday party, I was more than ecstatic to spend the week in sunny SoCal. In between breaks from work meetings (yawn!), I drove down the windy pacific coast roads to find the ultimate escape from work…the beach.
