entire look c/o Altar’d State
Crochet shorts, friends, soda pop, snacks, sparkles, giggles and tunes, these are some of my favorite things and totally describe my fun filled 4th of July weekend with Altar’d State. Melissa and I kicked off the weekend by heading down to explore Barton Springs while Taylor Swift and Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors (whom I’m very very very much into and listening to their rad playlist while I write this) drifted in the breeze with us.
I couldn’t be more obsessed with these gorgeous crochet lace shorts. Not only are they high-waisted with super pretty lace detailing but they’re perfect for hot summer nights and can be dressed up or dressed down as I did here with my knotted up tank. Which brings me to the true reason I fell in love with this outfit. Krochet Kids. Basically Krochet Kids makes amazing pieces from this simple delicate tank I’m wearing here to to super cool bags, hats and scarves. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL FOLKS. At the core of Krochet Kids is the mission to “holistically equip people living in poverty with the skills, education, and resources to change their circumstances forever”. With operations based out of California, Uganda and Peru, Krochet Kids is providing individuals the mentorship, training and experience needed to make whole-hearted changes for the better in their own lives. What resonated the most with me when learning more about Krochet Kids was their approach that “work provides worth” and through learning skills to produce quality products, individuals can find the confidence within themselves to chase after a better life, one with more fulfillment, success and happiness. And y’all Krochet Kids is just ONE of many amazing companies that Altar’d state carries at their stores! I seriously can’t be more thrilled with the platform and partnership that Altar’d state has created that is sharing such amazing companies even when you don’t expect it, like shopping for a cute top to go with your crochet shorts! I’m hoping your 4th of July weekend was filled with as many amazing discoveries as our were, whether it was discovering a cool new company that is standing out for good or stumbling upon a beautiful piece of nature that makes you feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
