It’s Friday, I’m in Love

May 8, 2015

Top: Nordstrom $48 // Skirt: Nordstrom $39 // Shoes: Nordstrom Sale, $109.90

Well, it’s finally here! Everyone’s favorite f-word, F-R-I-D-A-Y. For some reason it’s been a super long week and now I’m ready to hang out with my girls, chill out and eventually celebrate a beautiful Mother’s Day with the fam. It’s the best a girl can ask for her. Actually, if we are asking for wishes to come true, I request one more day between Saturday and Sunday to get all the errands taken care of and really just more time to relax. I shall call it Me-day!

Pom Poms Everywhere

May 7, 2015

top Lulus , love this lace one | shorts ASOS , also love these | sandals Sam Edelman ‘trina’ | bag (old) similar yellow one

Lately I’ve been seeing not only a lot of tropical prints but also pom pom details on everything, like literally every single kind of item. So when I was leisurely browsing Shopstyle which I do, oh every so day or two lol, and I came across these ASOS tropical printed high-waisted pom pom shorts … ON SALE, I didn’t even have to think twice. ASOS runs a bit small typically (they’re an european company so this isn’t unusual, think topshop sizing) so I ended up sizing up to a US size 4 which is a perfect loose fit in the butt and nice and snug in the waist. And at only $14, they were a steal.

Coral Crush

May 6, 2015

This past weekend, I re-discovered one of my favorite dresses hidden way in the back of my closet. I haven’t worn this coral maxi in a very long time. Who knows why? I guess it’s just human nature at times to get tired of seeing the same thing. Or maybe women are just predisposed to always want new things. Either way, I fell back in love with this high low coral maxi that I bought years ago for a trip to Hawaii.

Moms and Mimosas

May 4, 2015

On Mother’s Day, my family has a long-standing tradition of gathering our immediate family and having a delicious lunch. It never fails, we always seem to go to an Italian restaurant and usually need to be wheel barreled out. That may be a slight exaggeration but we love to dine out and order whatever pleases the palette. We are huge fans of a long dining experience and taking our time between courses so this way we can connect and truly enjoy the smells, sounds, tastes and moments together.

Sunsets over Mt. Bonnell

April 29, 2015

Earlier this week, I met with Jennifer to go over blogging and boys (naturally) and to switch things up a bit, we decided to meet at Mt. Bonnell in Austin. For those of you not familiar with the area, Mt. Bonnell is a gorgeous Austin attraction where you can watch the sunset over the hill country and see the reflection of the sun on Lake Austin. I’m not doing it justice in this description because it has really stunning views. I happened to be wearing this adorable outfit and she happened to have the camera so viola…you created this post.

Last weekend Melissa and I went explore one of her favorite little parks between her house and mine before heading to Contigo for dinner! I had never been to Contigo, so I wanted to wear something cute because I just really enjoy getting dressed up to go out. I had worn this same outfit a few weeks ago when my dad and I went to Cafe Josie (also a super cute dinner spot) and loved how playful, lighthearted and fun this look was!

Dress old Nordstrom Rack ( exact same on sale! , pink ) // crochet cardigan ( love this and this too !) // Sandals $15!! / bag old ( similar ) // lip Revlon Color Burst in Elusive

Since starting this blog with Melissa, I’ve put some pressure on myself to be constantly sharing with you all the newest and best things. But I realize, and hope you do too, that that’s not realistic! Not only do I have a budget to stick too, but I have a SUPER small closet! I can only fit so much in it and it’s currently starting to get really full. So instead of going shopping this week, I decided to shop my own closet again!

top to bottom, right to left: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9

I’ve been thinking more and more in the past week or so about my trip to Italy in July and I couldn’t be more excited to explore the streets, walking from cafe to museum to monument to church to hotel to restaurant and back again for two weeks! As you can imagine, comfort is queen when it comes to shoes for these kind of trips! So I’ve rounded up some of my favorite sandals and espadrilles for Italy to share with all of you because they’re also great for spring/summer in general!

We were lucky enough to have Prize Boutique , the lovely boutique that hosted our Austin Fashion Week Soiree a few weeks ago (? seems so long ago now!), loan us some beautiful pieces to wear to the finale show.

It’s so fun to get inspired by the designer’s creations and then heading home to try to replicate the look.

Romper Shop Sosie ( same one on sale for $35!) // woven bag old ( similar , tote version ) // Target Sandals ( loves these and sparkly flat ) // lip Revlon Color burst in Enticing

Yes I’m wearing another romper! I told you I was obsessed and I wasn’t kidding. I really believe that rompers are probably my most favorite items during summer/spring time, because you really don’t have to think so hard about pairing a top and bottom. This may seem trivial but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve torn apart my closet and drawers trying to find the right blouse-y top to go with the right flow-y shorts and by the end of it, my bed, floor, couch and kitchen island probably have clothes on them.

Under the Sun

romper ( similar white one and black one ) // sandals only $15!! ( similar , splurge ) // earrings ( love these too )// bag old ( similar )

I have a confession to make: I have a seriously obsession with rompers. And I don’t feel bad about it. I would count them and tell you how many I have, but I think it would be more than 10 maybe even 15… and I don’t want to think of that number continuously going up ever time I buy another. What do they say? What you don’t know about the number of rompers you actually have, can’t hurt you or your wallet?

Tropical Oasis

April 8, 2015

Finally, the warmth is making its grand appearance and hot, sunny days are ahead of us. In my dream world, it would be 80 something all the time and winter would never exist – it would be tropical weather all day, every day. If you haven’t figured out by now, I’m not much of a fan of cold climates.

maxed to perfection

April 7, 2015

I’ve recently noticed I have a thing for floral maxis! After looking at my closet, I’m clearly starting a collection. But how couldn’t I be obsessed with maxis? They’re such an easy piece to wear and perfect for the warmer weather here in Austin. It’s nice and airy and with fun prints to choose from, you can dress them up or down. I LOVE this oxblood floral dress from SoLa Style and adore the open back. For me, it’s so sexy when a woman’s back is showing!

Time to salsa

April 3, 2015

It’s the weekend which means time to let my hair down and have fun. I’m trying something different and taking a salsa dance class. Rhythm comes natural to me and for fun I’ve always taken some sort of dance class as a teenager and adult. For over seven years, I was a belly dancer but now I’m ready to get in touch with my Latina roots and try some salsa/merengue/bachata lessons. Even if you aren’t a dancer, don’t be afraid to get in touch with your inner dive and try a new activity like ballet, salsa, hip hop, jazz, belly dance or whatever calls your name!
