Techie Girl, Techie World: Tagspire

A few weeks ago, Melissa and I attended an amazing ATX Blogger Brunch where we met some fabulous Austin women who are making things happen for them and their companies. One of which was Amy Chait, VP of Marketing for Tagspire, an awesome new app that happened to be sponsoring the ATX Blogger Brunch. So what is Tagspire you might ask?

Tagspire is a super cool app that allows bloggers, influencers, movers and shakers to share photos of their latest finds, outfits and just life in general, with shoppable tags in the picture for seamless shopping… ALL in one place! It’s an inspired community of images that are EASILY shoppable and is not just a affiliate link tool for bloggers. I don’t know about you but, in the past 6 months I have purchased things that I’ve either seen on Instagram or was inspired by Instagram more than ever. Even though Seek Wander Share isn’t a part of RewardStyle (hey RewardStyle!), I have signed up my personal email so that if I like a photo I can get the shoppable links in my emails from Liketkit. My only problem with this is that I tend to like a lot of things, because I genuinely like the photo, the colors, the overall feel but don’t have any intention or burning desire to buy anything in the photo! And then I end up with a lot of emails, some of which I actually wanted to know where they got that, but most just meaningless! Unfortunately this is the way both Liketkit and Shopstyle.it are set up to work, through you’re email and from Instagram.

Tagspire is different because it’s its own app in and of itself with the ability to create your own social community of inspired images (not just products on a white background!) and shop right from the picture, no sifting through emails, no having to remember the link and no having to have a bunch of battery draining apps open all at once! BINGO! DING DING DING! WINNER! What makes Tagspire better than RewardStyle or Shopstyle is that its not just an affiliate link publishing platform, its a community, a go-to destination of inspired image-enthusiasts sharing their life and the products they’re passionate about. Now if you’re a blogger or influencer I can guess what your next question might be, will this help me monetize?

YES! My favorite thing about Tagspire is that their affiliate links are a commission based approach which is great for newbie bloggers like Melissa and I who have yet to be invited to the elite group of RewardStylers. But what makes Tagspire better than RewardStyle is that its not just an affiliate link publishing platform, its a community, a go-to destination of inspired image-enthusiasts sharing their life and the products their passionate about. This means you can utilize both the commission based approach and a pay per click approach to monetizing your blog! You can also embed Tagspire posts into your blog posts which is AMAZING! Here’s an example of our first Tagspire post below!

The green tag is our item tag and the yellow tag is a link to the blog post, so that if your readers on Tagspire want to go directly to your blog they can super easily! Another AMAZING feature for all our youtubers out there is you can also add a direct link to a youtube video, perhaps a product review, makeup tutorial or styling video! The possibilities are truly endless.

If I could sum up Tagspire easily here it is: Tagspire is what we all want: Instagram with direct links and product tags. YIPEE! Sold yet? Ready to do your first post?! We’ll step you through it! First download Tagspire in the app store for free and sign up with an account!

Open the app to the Tagspire homepage above and click the blue plus sign to begin your first post! Choose between taking a new photo, uploading a photo and using a stock photo from their selection. Melissa and I don’t plan on using the last option very much since a stock photo isn’t very creative or inspiring, but the option is available if you want it! After selecting your photo option, click the left most icon resembling paper to add a description for your post! Keep it short and sweet, because your characters are limited. Click done in the top right hand corner once you’ve entered your description! Next, add your tags; here Melissa will add a Green Tagspire Sell tag! (Sell tags: green dollar sign, Video tags: red videocamera icon for youtube links, Link tags: yellow interlocking boxes icon for any link you want! This is where you would add your blog link if you wanted. The other great thing about the yellow Link tags is that if you can’t find a product in Tagspire, you can copy and paste a different affiliate link to that product by utilizing the yellow Link tags! Just a little hint!) In the search bar, type in the retailer, brand and description. If you’re having trouble finding the product, try googling it and finding the exact product name and using that in Tagspire’s search box. Or you can use the yellow tag to utilize an different affiliate link to the product or to just enter the link to the product directly, like a Zara top from the Zara website! Once you find the item, click apply in the top right hand corner to add the Tagspire Sell tag! After you’ve added your Tagspire Sell tag, you can go back and add more Tagspire Link tags, utilizing the yellow interlocking boxes icon to copy and paste your own link (blog post or other affiliate link) or Tagspire Video tags, the red video icon for a youtube link (make sure to just copy and paste the link in your web browser not the fancy link provided by youtube!). When you’ve added all the links you want, click done in the top right hand corner! This is what your finished product will look like!
