I’m such a believer in women empowering women and lifting each other’s spirits so I love to go to events based around women supporting each other. Luckily enough, I live in Austin and have been able to attend SXSW. The one event that I did not want to miss this year was Neiman Marcus’s Make Some Noise . It was filled with beautiful ladies from the inside out discussing how they are leading the way forward for women around the world.
Get your dream job

The other day, I had an intern approach me at work and she wanted to set up time on my calendar to go over interview tips and tricks. I was a little surprised for a couple of reasons – first, I was flattered she trusted my opinion and that she wanted to learn from me. Second, I felt a little old! I’m really not old but it never occurred to me that I’ve been in the workforce for seven years now and have some good experience under my belt. However, it feels like I just graduated college. So after the initial shock, I was more than happy to help with her upcoming interview. I shared with her my fav tips that landed her the job! This advice is helpful for someone entering the workforce with minimal experience.
A way to a man’s heart

What’s the best way to a man’s heart? You guessed it, his stomach. Feed a man a home-cooked meal and he’s putty in your hands. This Valentine’s Day, stay in and cook a romantic dinner followed by…dot, dot, dot. You can use your imagination on that. If you really want to turn things up a notch, you can cook with an apron on and some sexy lingerie (shop this post) underneath. I’m pretty sure your man will be drooling but not for dinner. And if things get too heated in the kitchen, just make sure you don’t burn the food. I’ll share my favorite Italian dinner which is an easy and delicious 3-course meal to prepare this Valentine’s Day. Bon Appétit!

January 23, 2015There’s an art to sitting down, putting pen or pencil to paper and sharing your thoughts with the world. Even if you keep your creation all to yourself, and never stamp it and drop in the mail box, or crumble it up and throw it away, or tuck it behind nicknacks in an old drawer, your creation still exists. That’s not the case with a file on your computer when you press delete, and I’ll admit it feels much more impersonal and unconnected. Today is National Handwriting Day, and although I would have wanted to send you something the old fashioned way, our favorite quotes, thoughts and musings will have to do.
Women Who Inspire: Tracy Reese
January 19, 2015
Each month, Jennifer and I want to focus on women who inspire. Since we started this venture, we have met many influential women who have been supportive, positive, and uplifting through our journey. As women, we need to lift one another up and motivate each other to meet our potential. In honor of MLK Day and upcoming African American History Month, I wanted to highlight an African American woman who has inspired me while I went to fashion school.
Healthy Living: Green and Lean
January 9, 2015
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to live a healthier life which meant evaluating my diet. It became a lifestyle change and I took a new approach on how I viewed food. To keep it simple, food is now fuel for my body! I’ve become more aware of what I put into my body and enjoy eating the healthy foods that give me more energy.
2015 Fitness Trends: Tone It Up
January 6, 2015
I have always been a big fan of fitness classes at an actual physical gym. Being super competitive, I always work so much harder if I am in a room with a bunch of strangers who are working just as hard as I am! The only catch with these classes is sometimes they don’t fit perfectly into your super busy schedule, and we have a great option for those nights when your meetings run long or you sleep through your morning class!

Get Your Fit On
December 30, 2014
This week we’re rounding up our favorite workout looks, because as I always say to myself “if you don’t feel good going to the gym, you wont go”. That might seem silly, but feeling like you have some go-to pieces to mix and match for your workout wardrobe is so important in feeling like you belong at the gym just as much as those women killing it in spin class!

One of the biggest things about starting your own blog or your own website in general is your design and photos. Being a lover a blogs (all different kinds, from fashion, design to art) I spend a lot of time browsing my personal favorite blogs and admiring their photos. So when Melissa and I decided we were going to do this and do it full tilt, we knew we had to come up with a strategy for our photos.
