One thing is always certain to happen when you go on vacation. And that is, you will eat and eat and eat. When I traveled to Terranea Resort , I dined at most of their restaurants on property and was happily pleased with their delicious menus. There were so many options, from casual comfort cuisine to fine dining to pastries and lattes at the coffee shop. Since I consider myself somewhat of a foodie, I took the personal challenge to find the best meals while on my mini-vacation.
First stop on my foodie dining challenge is Nelson’s on Friday night. What a great place to grab a drink, sit by a fire pit, watch the sunset and take pics of Point Vicente Lighthouse. This casual eatery has a menu that will delight; I ordered the tasty quinoa salad which was light and refreshing and sipped on a cucumber margarita all while sitting outside feeling the ocean breeze and enjoying my first night there.
The next evening we got all dolled up and headed to Mar’sel’s for a fine dining experience. If you visit, make sure you get a table outside to enjoy the stunning seaside views and romantic setting. The seasonal menu featured locally grown produce and herbs that were grown in their very own garden right outside the restaurant! As an appetizer, we ordered the most delectable fried oysters I’ve ever had and make sure you don’t skip out on dessert. The caramel pot de creme melted in my mouth and I became that person moaning loudly in a restaurant….oops!
Sunday quickly approached and it was time to wrap up the weekend with breakfast in the Catalina Kitchen. Breakfast is by far my favorite meal of the day and the perfect excuse to load up on food because after all, we will burn all those calories off by the end of the day…right? I sure hope so. Per usual, I get my all time fave of eggs Benedict and a latte and it was yummm-my! Perfect meal to wrap up my weekend getaway at Terranea Resort.
Bon Appétit!
