I’ve been thinking more and more in the past week or so about my trip to Italy in July and I couldn’t be more excited to explore the streets, walking from cafe to museum to monument to church to hotel to restaurant and back again for two weeks! As you can imagine, comfort is queen when it comes to shoes for these kind of trips! So I’ve rounded up some of my favorite sandals and espadrilles for Italy to share with all of you because they’re also great for spring/summer in general!
My personal favorites are the ASOS ‘jamestown’ espadrille because the tiny platform can give you just a little boost but doesn’t seem so big that it would weigh you down or trip you up on cobblestone and the DUNE ‘lemins’ embellished espadrille because I love a neutral sparkle and this would go with anything that I would pack. The embellishment makes it a little dressier which can balance out a more casual look if I pop into a nice restaurant while exploring Como, Italy. Both the PIECES sandals are simple, elegant and well made with smooth leather straps that will break into your foot and become super soft. I think I’ll probably end up getting either the ‘carla’ or … both if I plan my budget accordingly! There’s so much I want to buy for the trip but I have to save for the hotels and the car, which is quite more important that what I’m wearing or whats on my feet lol!
I’m still planning a lot of the trip and have moved on to the details of the itinerary like where we’ll go on which days and what I want to see in each place, and how much time apart they are so that I can make sure we space the trip out well enough to see everything we want to in that city but also have down time to discover completely new places we might not even know about! So far I’ve definitely decided Lake Como, Verona, Venice, Florence, Cortina d’Ampezzo (so my dad can experience the Alps because they’re amazing and hopefully we’ll do some hiking), Portofino, La Spezia, Pisa, Postiano, Capri aaaaaaand Rome. I’m determined to fit it all into two weeks! If any of you are expert travelers, have planned your own multi-city driving trip in a foreign country OR just have some suggestions on how to best plan this trip, I would LOVE to hear them!
