Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I’m writing this a little last minute (it’s Friday night) but to be honest I wasn’t really inspired until now. I told myself I would write about how I was going to do this and going to that for Valentine’s day and spend it with this person or that. Truth is: I don’t have any plans for Valentine’s day or night. And as I’m listening to Taylor’s Swift’s “Never Grow Up” I’m realizing that I shouldn’t have to feel like I should have any thing in particular to do for Valentine’s Day.
I have SO much time in my life to do what ever it is that grown ups or people who have their entire life planned out do on Valentine’s day. Because, pretty soon in a blink of an eye I’ll be at another stage in my life, the one where the momentum greater than now and maybe I won’t wish for this time in my life, but if I don’t live in the moment, I know I’ll wish I would have truly savored the moment, tonight, and not expected anything from this time other than exactly what it is. I have friends that I love dearly that so badly wish for the progression of their life, to the husband, the house, the children, the security, whatever it is.
I don’t want to fast forward. I want to know that life is already speeding by so fast, faster than we really know, faster than I know and I pretend to know how fast. I want to savor tonight, the delicious potato pasta bite things that Olive and June has, the laughter, catching up with the girls, not having to wake up at ANY particular time tomorrow morning and everything exactly as we are right now.
