Gone To Pastel Desert, BRB

Wouldn’t it be nice to hop in a classic 911, turn the 50s up and go speeding out west with nothing but dust in the rearview mirror for a weekened? Well I’m back and I can tell you that the desert was definitely sweeter than I expected, sort of like a cotton candy dessert, not dusty desert!

What’s funny about this look is that Mel and I both own this top thanks to a half yearly 70% sale at a super cute boutique that we both went to. I ended up leaving the sale early, after doing damage that we still won’t speak about, for a date while Mel continued to shop and picked up this top, a thousand other things and these splendid shorts I’ve been regretting not spotting and purchasing at the sale ever since! So this look is basically my version of the lace peasant top my way and I kept it pretty simple considering this is the exact same outfit that I actually have worn to work. The top is ZOA and is unfortunately unavailable for the time being but ZOA reproduces this top every season in new colors. I found the black version available right now online which would be just as beautiful with turquoise and candy colored desserts or deserts whichever suits your fancy! Of course I really love a crisp white top, as illustrated by the 11 different versions of a white top hanging in my closet right now, oops. Even still, I wouldn’t mind adding this super cute peasant top from Vince Camuto as my 12th ha! These skinny jeans from 7 for all mankind are my favorite go-to building block for work outfits. Thank goodness I work in a casual environment because it really makes playing with my wardrobe and coming up with outfit ideas that much more convenient! If you missed the story on this Tory Burch Robinson tote, you really did miss out, but don’t fret you can catch up on the deets here .

Last weekend I had some car issues and THANKFULLY I have a wonderful dad who was willing to lend me his weekend car while mine was in the shop. The issue was something that was supposed to have been fixed a month ago, so luckily I would have to shell out any additional cash seeing as how they should have fixed it the first time around but it got me thinking about how difficult it can be to save up a rainy day fund. I use some really helpful apps believe it or not to tract my savings, investments and day to day spending to try to stay on track but I have been known to fall off the wagon for a pair of shoes, handbag or two. Hmmm maybe I just need to go cold shopping turkey… now thats an idea…
