Let’s get started truth or dare

March 13, 2015

Next week, the music portion of SXSW is starting and Melissa and I can’t wait to take over FashionxAustin’s blog and Instagram as their exclusive SXSW Fashion and Music Insiders! While doing some research and I mean really just listening to the 8tracks app while working, I stumbled across an amazing song: Coconut Water by Milk and Bone . And as luck would have it, they will be gracing Austin, Tx. this week with their presence at SXSW! Long story short, this look was inspired by the feeling that their song Coconut Water and Pressure gave me whilst listening to them.

Whatever with a Twist

March 5, 2015

Despite it being freezing cold lately, no exaggeration here although I wish, I’m not letting the glum weather get my spirits down. Which is exactly why I pulled out this super cute graphic pom hat when it went below 35 the other day. I have always loved hats and think that they can be the perfect accessory to an outfit that is seemingly missing something but you can’t quite figure out what.

Work Wear Savvy

February 26, 2015

When I graduated from college and found out that I had my first real job, I was so excited. This was the new page of a completely new chapter for me. I wasn’t nervous about what how I would perform and how I would fit in, but I had no idea what I would wear. This may seem silly, but I take great pride in being appropriately dressed for almost all occasions (except the grocery store), and was unsure what really defined business casual. I’m lucky enough to work for a tech start-up which is a fairly casual environment.

Nine to Five

February 22, 2015

With the work week ahead, I know my schedule is going to be crazy busy! I’m juggling all sorts of balls in the air with my nine to five, Seek Wander Share, and every other surprise life throws my way. To save some time in the morning, I love wearing dresses to work because they are so easy and comfortable but still look professional and polished. And I’m all about a great bold and colorful print for extra pizzazz. This BCBG Max Azria dress that I bought for 60% off in January is the perfect item for a day in the office. The printed jersey wrap dress is an effortless look and so easy to style with a large tote bag and heels. And anyone who knows me well is very aware that my mornings are a bit hectic. Anything I can do to save time is much needed hence, why a simple dress for work is the best outfit!

Like New Again: Part 2

February 18, 2015

When you’re in a fashion rut and don’t have enough moo-la to buy a new item, no need to worry. I have the perfect solution for you – shop in your own closet. Alright ladies, I know I’m not the only who has pieces of clothing that are just hanging in their closet that have not been worn in quite some time.  Let’s be real, you stare at all your clothes and think to yourself, “I have nothing to wear.” In reality, you can re-invent looks by picking up that blazer that’s collecting dust and wearing it with the new skirt you bought last month. Check out Jennifer’s “Like New Again” outfit. Totes Adorbs!

Like New Again

February 17, 2015

Since setting my resolution this year to travel more, I have had to brain storm how I am exactly going to make that happen. What was the solution I came up with: shopping my closet as a way to save money. Every girl has some items that have been tucked away in their closet that they haven’t worn in a while. But it can be so much to try on some pieces that you haven’t played with in a million years.

Whats On My Face

February 12, 2015

If you had asked me before putting together this post if I was a makeup girl, I probably would have said “not really”. Don’t get me wrong, I love to feel beautiful but I grew up riding horses and coming home smelly with dirt under my nails and in my hair and didn’t really discover fashion and makeup until I was 14! Kind of late to the game I know. My mother was never big on makeup either so most everything I learned was from magazines, movies and friends (don’t worry mom, I learned so much more from you and it’s much more important stuff! like how to pick a great horse!).

Leather & Leopard

February 10, 2015

Last weekend it was absolutely gorgeous in Austin! The sun was out and I met the girls for a drink in these amazing leather shorts that I splurged on a few years ago at Nordstrom. I hadn’t yet worn them this entire winter, which honestly is a travesty, and I’m thrilled that the weather was nice enough to bring ‘em out!

Secrets from the boudoir

February 7, 2015

There’s is no room for shyness when you are behind closed doors with your man. Let’s keep it real, men are visual creatures and giving them a private show can be a fun way to connect on a more intimate level. Remember, no matter what you are wearing to the bedroom, confidence is key and you will scream SEXY when you strut your stuff!

Feeling Tribal…

February 6, 2015

Last weekend was I met up with my girlfriends for queso, tacos and drinks after a working all day (fun work that is) on the blog. Being from the south and growing up in Texas, tex-mex is just a way of life; in fact my dad loves it so much that I think if we could eat it every time we meet to somewhere to eat, we would lol! If only it wasn’t for my pestering him to try new places, we probably really would! Anyways, we met at La Condesa which is one of my all time favorite places for girl talk and the BEST drinks this side of the Mississippi. I didn’t have time to run home and grab flats so I wore what I had previously been wearing which was a super cute outfit built around a statement skirt!

Countdown to the weekend

January 29, 2015

Hang in there friends, it’s almost Friday! And I’m already planning my girls night out outfit. After a long week of work and responsibilities, its time to let loose and paint the town red. By the way, my version of that means I’ll be back home before all the “cool” kids even make it to the bar. I have my outfit all planned so when the clock hits 5pm on Friday, I’m out the door to get a cat nap and then meet the girls.

Common Scents

January 27, 2015

As a child, I remember my mom spritzing the sweetest, most floral scent. I would sneak into her vanity and spray myself with her signature perfume. Now, I love to try various fragrances and depending on my mood, I’ll try perfumes with different notes. I will still always love floral aromas as it will bring back the memory of my mother. Currently, I’ve taken a rather interesting approach to my perfume selection….I’ve chosen a cologne by Hanae Mori with notes of blackcurrant and spearmint and was inspired by the sea. But on a more traditional note, I wanted to share some of my favorite perfumes I’ve tried over the years.

A Pink Moment

January 25, 2015

Last week Melissa posted about the how we went to the cutest brunch spot to have a Seek Wander Share meeting and I wanted to share with you what I wore to our meeting. Building this blog has been so much work, but thankfully as I was reminded today, when you find something you love as much as I love Seek Wander Share, it no longer seems like work. I am so incredibly thankful that I can have so much fun and still be chasing my ambitions at the same time!

C’est Tout Bon

January 24, 2015

This look is an absolute favorite of mine because it makes me feel so beautiful and girly! Not only that, but its super easy to pull off and flattering on every figure; after receiving so many likes for this outfit and variations of it time after time on my personal instagram, I decided give the people what they want!

The It Color: Marsala

January 21, 2015

I first heard about this mysterious meeting of the fashion/design/art minds that determined the colors of the year which will define the fashion trends while watching a great documentary on Vogue’s September Issue on Netflix. I was fascinated by this idea of secret society that makes the decisions before normal people like me are even thinking of next spring or summer.

Women Who Inspire: Tracy Reese

January 19, 2015

Each month, Jennifer and I want to focus on women who inspire. Since we started this venture, we have met many influential women who have been supportive, positive, and uplifting through our journey. As women, we need to lift one another up and motivate each other to meet our potential. In honor of MLK Day and upcoming African American History Month, I wanted to highlight an African American woman who has inspired me while I went to fashion school.

Pleated to meet you

January 16, 2015

Have you noticed the midi skirt trend this fall and winter? This trend is great for those of you looking to mix up your silhouette and try something new! I’ve been wanting to mix it up lately and try new styles, so when I was playing around with this camo sweater and holding it up to different skirts in my closet, I came to this pleated midi skirt and had to try on the outfit.

Keeping Your 2015 Fitness Goals

January 14, 2015

Happy New Year everyone! It’s inevitable that you’ll make some goals and resolutions to be healthier, happier and fitter this new year as most people do, and I will too! It’s easy to keep these goals 2 weeks in or even a month into the calendar year but what happens when life starts to get busy and we get burned out?

Poncho Bandwagon

January 11, 2015

Have you guys been loving ponchos too this winter or is it just me? Pretty sure it can’t possibly be just me, although I am truly loving this look! Ponchos are amazingly chic and so comfortable; its like wearing a blanket out and about and it still being completely socially acceptable, which is the best part!
