One of the biggest things about starting your own blog or your own website in general is your design and photos. Being a lover a blogs (all different kinds, from fashion, design to art) I spend a lot of time browsing my personal favorite blogs and admiring their photos. So when Melissa and I decided we were going to do this and do it full tilt, we knew we had to come up with a strategy for our photos.

Since then, we have started using a Nikon D5300 and it’s been a challenge learning how to really get the best photos we can from the camera. The hardest part is making sure the light is perfect! Still, I have always loved the 2nd street area in Austin because it has the cutest shops (um hello! Etcetera. etc. am I right? check it out now!) and amazing food that I could go on for days and days about. In fact one of my favorite places in Austin is La Condesa because the atmosphere is amazing and anyone who knows me, knows an ambiance is a must have. So the other night, I grabbed the camera and bopped down to 2nd st. to see all the Christmas lights, do some last minute shopping and pick up movie tickets for later that weekend at the violet crown (another absolute favorite spot). Practice makes perfect and the best way to practice with the Nikon is take it everywhere even if the light isn’t perfect, because that’s the only way I’ll get better right?
