I am such a baby about the heat as illustrated in last week’s post about why trapeze dresses are everything during the summer but I also truly believe that shorts and skirts save my life in the summer. Now I’m not that girl who wears shorts to work, even though some of my female co-workers do (it’s a super casual environment and you can totally get away with it). I just feel like it’s a lot of leg to show at work especially since I’m always getting told that I look taller than I am. But you can rest assured, I LOVE me some shorts. You’ve seen my destroyed denim collection, the urban outfitter vintage pair I spent way too much on, the H&M destroyed pair in denim and then wait for it… also in black . But when I saw Mel’s splendid chambray shorts, I said “yes, yes I’ll take those too”.
So here they are people! Also, on another complete unrelated note, I hadn’t worn this top since way earlier this past spring because I thought the color was too deep for spring and summer but then I put it on and realized how completely out of my mind I truly am sometimes. Like really? Magenta is too deep for summer? PUHLEASE JENNIFER, get over yourself. So here I am, and since wearing it a few weeks ago, I’ve worn it several times, once with this adorable vintage skirt I picked up on south congress here in Austin (patience my pretties) and also with white jeans and my two tone denim jacket from Nordstorm BP. So yeah, magenta is my jam.
Italy is creeping up on me FAST. I’m starting to stress. My dad has delegated most of the decisions to me which sounds great in theory but apparently that 25th hour in the day that I recently submitted a request for hasn’t come through yet. SO fingers crossed I can get us all booked with places to stay so that we don’t have to couch surf or sleep in our car rental (Oh I also need to rent that too…) before I go crazy.
