Bubbles and Sequins

New year, new dress. Why not? This New Year’s Eve I wanted to dress like a disco ball while sipping on bubbles…sequins, glitter, celebrations, shine, diamonds, sparkle, champagne. It’s a little over the top, in comparison to my typical casual look, but I wanted to ring in the new year in style.

On my quest to find the most flashy yet flattering dress, I came across this beauty at Nordstrom. Obviously, I love all the sequins but what I’m crazy about is the illusion of an hourglass figure without working out. Take that gym! The color block pattern of the dark sequins on this minidress fools the eye into giving me some curves.

So when I knew this dress was the winner for my NYE look, I wanted to keep everything else simple. No need to over-accessorize because the dress alone makes the grand statement. As mentioned in my Shine Bright during the Holiday’s post , I borrowed this beautiful Vince jacket from my blogger partner in crime, Jennifer. And to be honest, I “borrowed’ this purse from my mom’s closet. Are you beginning to see a pattern here? (Mom, sorry about that. I’ll return it ASAP). The shoes are from ALDO from a few years ago but you can find an identical black pump on sale now for $40 !
