Hello Spring

March 24, 2015

Spring officially started last friday, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Springtime is such a special time of the year, the crepe mertle trees are blooming, baby birds are hatching in their nests and all the stores are filled with the cutest prints, brightest colors and amazing rompers! I fell in love with this one because it has little elephants all over it that made me think of the french children’s book that I used to read growing up, Barbar.

Let’s get started truth or dare

March 13, 2015

Next week, the music portion of SXSW is starting and Melissa and I can’t wait to take over FashionxAustin’s blog and Instagram as their exclusive SXSW Fashion and Music Insiders! While doing some research and I mean really just listening to the 8tracks app while working, I stumbled across an amazing song: Coconut Water by Milk and Bone . And as luck would have it, they will be gracing Austin, Tx. this week with their presence at SXSW! Long story short, this look was inspired by the feeling that their song Coconut Water and Pressure gave me whilst listening to them.

What to Wear for SXSW

March 11, 2015

SXSW is right around the corner is a huge event in Austin. Growing up in Austin, I never really got into SXSW considering I was a big scaredy cat and thought all bad things in the city happened downtown, which turns out Austin is a pretty safe city and I’ve been enjoying downtown life for the past year and it suits me just fine. This year, along with Melissa, I’ve purchased a wrist band, which I’m not quite sure what it guarantees me, but am so excited to roam the city and check out a few bands I’ve discovered throw 8tracks and soundcloud.

Puerto Rico, here I come

March 7, 2015

The countdown has officially begun. T-minus 5 days until I am reunited with my family on the beautiful Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. I may not have been born there but I definitely love the culture, food, people, music and everything else from my “native” home. One things for sure – everyone who knows me says I’m a little feisty and there’s no doubt in my mind that it comes from being a hot-blooded Latina and I will not apologize for my sassy-ness!

It’s a spring fling

March 6, 2015

In the midst of all the sleet, ice, gusty winds and freezing weather, I’ve managed to accept that this will be a longer winter than I would have like. However, I’m planning my trip to Puerto Rico soon and I’ll definitely need to pack light as they are currently experiencing temperatures of 83 degrees. This adorable dress will be perfect when I’m visiting the island to help my sister prepare for her upcoming wedding in San Juan, PR. Hopefully, I’ll come back a shade or two darker so when the weather finally warms up and I get to wear this dress, the orange will compliment my glowing tan. As for now, I’ll just daydream of the sun, beach, and anything spring to get me through this arctic blast.

Whatever with a Twist

March 5, 2015

Despite it being freezing cold lately, no exaggeration here although I wish, I’m not letting the glum weather get my spirits down. Which is exactly why I pulled out this super cute graphic pom hat when it went below 35 the other day. I have always loved hats and think that they can be the perfect accessory to an outfit that is seemingly missing something but you can’t quite figure out what.

Code Every Blogger Should Know

March 4, 2015

When Melissa and I started this blog we had a really steep learning curve. And thankfully, so many bloggers had experienced the same thing and had written of their trial and tribulations which we read to learn from and fix our own problems with the way things were looking on our blog. So today I’m going to share with you a few simple code tips and tricks that Melissa and I live and breathe by.

Shirting The Issue

March 3, 2015

If you follow Seek Wander Share on Instagram you know by now that Melissa and I fell in love with the cutest Austin boutique, Found and splurged on a bunch of items that we were totally over the moon about. One of those pieces was this awesome silk shirt dress with a waist tie detail. I’m a a total sucker for anything soft, silky or blouse-y and if I can find this trifecta of my definition of perfection in an item, I snatch it up and never look back.

One Love

February 28, 2015

My beach vacation is right around the corner and it’s all I can think about! I have one goal this trip: get my tan on! I’ll be headed to Puerto Rico to visit my father and help my sister with her wedding. Lucky girl…she’s getting married at the St. Regis in San Juan and I’m so excited to be a part of the planning. In between the meetings with caterers, florists and planners,I’ll be lounging beach side catching some sun and enjoying, well absolutely nothing but the moment. No stress, no work, no worries, just relaxing and recharging.

Work Wear Savvy

February 26, 2015

When I graduated from college and found out that I had my first real job, I was so excited. This was the new page of a completely new chapter for me. I wasn’t nervous about what how I would perform and how I would fit in, but I had no idea what I would wear. This may seem silly, but I take great pride in being appropriately dressed for almost all occasions (except the grocery store), and was unsure what really defined business casual. I’m lucky enough to work for a tech start-up which is a fairly casual environment.

Nine to Five

February 22, 2015

With the work week ahead, I know my schedule is going to be crazy busy! I’m juggling all sorts of balls in the air with my nine to five, Seek Wander Share, and every other surprise life throws my way. To save some time in the morning, I love wearing dresses to work because they are so easy and comfortable but still look professional and polished. And I’m all about a great bold and colorful print for extra pizzazz. This BCBG Max Azria dress that I bought for 60% off in January is the perfect item for a day in the office. The printed jersey wrap dress is an effortless look and so easy to style with a large tote bag and heels. And anyone who knows me well is very aware that my mornings are a bit hectic. Anything I can do to save time is much needed hence, why a simple dress for work is the best outfit!

February 18, 2015

When you’re in a fashion rut and don’t have enough moo-la to buy a new item, no need to worry. I have the perfect solution for you – shop in your own closet. Alright ladies, I know I’m not the only who has pieces of clothing that are just hanging in their closet that have not been worn in quite some time.  Let’s be real, you stare at all your clothes and think to yourself, “I have nothing to wear.” In reality, you can re-invent looks by picking up that blazer that’s collecting dust and wearing it with the new skirt you bought last month. Check out Jennifer’s “Like New Again” outfit. Totes Adorbs!

Like New Again

February 17, 2015

Since setting my resolution this year to travel more, I have had to brain storm how I am exactly going to make that happen. What was the solution I came up with: shopping my closet as a way to save money. Every girl has some items that have been tucked away in their closet that they haven’t worn in a while. But it can be so much to try on some pieces that you haven’t played with in a million years.

Closet Confessions: Must-Have Item

February 16, 2015

Trends come and go but there are a few items that every woman needs in her closet. It may cost you a bit more to purchase these must-have pieces but you will get so much wear out of them. I recently purchased an essential item that I know will stand the test of time – a camel soft leather jacket by Milly. Best thing about this purchase was the fact that I bought it for 70% OFF! How could I resist such an incredible deal! The  original cost was $925 (yikes) and I scored this beauty for $277. I know that’s a lot of money but I figured at such a steep discount, it was a good time to splurge. I’m glad I did because I’ve worn this jacket so many times already and I know it will always stay in style.

Happy Galentine’s Day

February 13, 2015

Hooray for Galentine’s Day! The best day of the year to celebrate all your inspiring, talented, beautiful, charming, intelligent, kind, adventurous lady friends. Without your girls, who would else be there during your ups and downs. Helping you celebrate the promotions, going on double dates, listening to you talk for hours about your crush, debating what you should wear on a Friday night, motivating you to workout, and everything else under the sun.

Leather & Leopard

February 10, 2015

Last weekend it was absolutely gorgeous in Austin! The sun was out and I met the girls for a drink in these amazing leather shorts that I splurged on a few years ago at Nordstrom. I hadn’t yet worn them this entire winter, which honestly is a travesty, and I’m thrilled that the weather was nice enough to bring ‘em out!

Feeling Tribal…

February 6, 2015

Last weekend was I met up with my girlfriends for queso, tacos and drinks after a working all day (fun work that is) on the blog. Being from the south and growing up in Texas, tex-mex is just a way of life; in fact my dad loves it so much that I think if we could eat it every time we meet to somewhere to eat, we would lol! If only it wasn’t for my pestering him to try new places, we probably really would! Anyways, we met at La Condesa which is one of my all time favorite places for girl talk and the BEST drinks this side of the Mississippi. I didn’t have time to run home and grab flats so I wore what I had previously been wearing which was a super cute outfit built around a statement skirt!
