SXSW is right around the corner is a huge event in Austin. Growing up in Austin, I never really got into SXSW considering I was a big scaredy cat and thought all bad things in the city happened downtown, which turns out Austin is a pretty safe city and I’ve been enjoying downtown life for the past year and it suits me just fine. This year, along with Melissa, I’ve purchased a wrist band, which I’m not quite sure what it guarantees me, but am so excited to roam the city and check out a few bands I’ve discovered throw 8tracks and soundcloud.
During this time of the year Austin’s weather can be a bit unpredicatable so its super important to dress in layers and have bags with lots of storage space for all your necessities, your survival kit (more on that later) and to store your layers if the sun pops out and you get warm! We’ve partnered with an amazing bag company ESPEROS , who does so much more than just great bags. Not only is ESPEROS a local Austin, Texas brand but each backpack and bag sold helps send a child in need to school for a year! The bags themselves are designed with hope in Austin by people who live in Austin, using super durable canvas material in neutral and universal colors. The wonderful people at ESPEROS are super passionate and work really hard to create meaningful bags with a meaningful mission in mind. Melissa and I not only love the simple and thoughtfully crafted canvas bags but completely admire and love their mission of providing children in the developing world with access to education. We can’t wait to wear our classic canvas backpack all during SXSW because it fits all our entire survival kit and more but better yet is completely handsfree since its a backpack! If you’re wondering what’s in our SXSW survival kit, next week check out our SXSW style insider takeover on FashionxAustin!
