Starting this blog with Melissa has been so much fun because I am getting to play in my closet everyday and try new looks and mix pieces that I might not have have paired together before. What better way to ring in 2015 than with a fun carefree look?
My bestie blogging PIC (hi Melissa!) surprised me with this adorable cropped graphic sweater by Nordstrom’s Leith and I knew I had to share it with all of you! Graphic tops have always been a favorite by me; I love them because it really adds a funky and fun touch to any outfit especially someone who tends to stick to one trend and play it safe like me. For instance my immediate inclination is to pair this graphic tee with skinnies and statement flats, like my black velvet and gold studded smoking slippers from topshop, but I feel like that can be a limited approach to styling your graphic tee/sweater. Don’t be afraid to mix it up and pair a sassy graphic top with a flirty or girl bottom choice! For this look I paired my statement sweater back to a printed tee shirt pencil skirt from Zara (similar) and finished the look off with my go-to lace up cage sandal heels from Prabal Gurung for Target (steal!).
I kept my jewelry somewhat simple but still fun by throwing on some of my favorite Shine Project layered bracelets like the gold feather and popular druzy stone. If you guys haven’t checked out the Shine Project’s bracelets yet, your missing out! This is an amazing organization that employs at risk youth that want to break the cycle and better their future through hard work, dedication and perserverance! Each purchase directly impacts the student and the pieces are incredibly cute and can be layered for an arm party statement look or worn alone as a simple but chic look. I love mine so much I have been wearing them non-stop because they mix up my look and keep me from being too predictable. On a side note, I did a super fun manicure for NYE! I’ve never had white nails before but I am loving the look of these fun white nails with the gold glitter accent nail on my ring finger. You can also dress statement tees up like this by pairing it back to an embellished skirt as well, which you can see below where I’ve put together some fun looks for last minute NYE shoppers! Happy New Year everyone!
Last year I tried something new with my new years resolutions which was to keep them short and sweet: to travel more and go to more concerts. I went to about 30+ concerts and had the time of my life at each one. But even though I did go to San Francisco, I didn’t travel as much as I wanted to. So this year, I’m going to streamline the approach even more!
My new years resolution: visit a country I’ve never been to before and experience life there to the fullest.
