Last weekend was I met up with my girlfriends for queso, tacos and drinks after a working all day (fun work that is) on the blog. Being from the south and growing up in Texas, tex-mex is just a way of life; in fact my dad loves it so much that I think if we could eat it every time we meet to somewhere to eat, we would lol! If only it wasn’t for my pestering him to try new places, we probably really would! Anyways, we met at La Condesa which is one of my all time favorite places for girl talk and the BEST drinks this side of the Mississippi. I didn’t have time to run home and grab flats so I wore what I had previously been wearing which was a super cute outfit built around a statement skirt!
This skirt I picked up at the Topshop in my local Nordstrom from my go-to Nordstrom stylist, Alex Marquez. When I saw it online, I immediately fell in love; its beautiful print reminds me of fabrics from central america and feels so fun but will also brighten any look! I wanted to keep the feeling of this look sort of utility driven so I paired my go-to casual worn-in tank from H&M with this great silky army green utility jacket from Nordstrom’s Trouve line. I have gotten so much use and compliments every time I wear this jacket its incredible. It’s lightweight enough to layer on in the early spring and late summer and brings that effortless vibe that completes any t-shirt and jeans kinda day. Finally I topped this look off with a side braid inspired by miss Amber Fillerup from Barefoot Blonde , who has the most inspiring and easy to follow How-Tos on braids, statement earrings from a boutique a million years ago, (but the turquoise earrings from mad fads in the shop the post below are under $10!) and my classic camel Zara pumps I picked up on sale last summer (such a great buy!).
Tomorrow I am finally getting some time to meet with my dad and I think we’ll spend the entire day doing fun daddy daughter stuff like running town lake, him trying to convince me what stocks to invest in next (this is surprisingly so much fun for me to chat with him about!), catching a new movie out in theaters (we’ve seen every single hunger games together lol!) and you guessed it… eating some tex-mex over a few Pacificos! Wishing you all a lovely weekend ahead; don’t forget to shop the post below:
